I was thinking about buying a gamepad recently, and somehow,I remembered how choppy and not smooth are my camera angles because of a sucky mouse and a missing mouse pad.It could be also used with SA camHack for offering a smooth intro with some curves into the movement like a scripted one.
Opinions about what I said and how practical a gamepad could be when recording?

I've had this idea in mind for quite some time. I don't think it would improve angles, but rather movement.
Guess I'll have to try it out anyways. :hmm:

Stranger had some awesome camera angles+movement.I wonder if he used this method :)

Good thinking, I guess using the thumbsticks might give you better/smoother camera control indeed.

never tryed a gamepad really on pc :ajaja:
But definitely gonna buy a special usb cable to connect my xbox controller (wireless one) to my pc and give it a shot!

You cant use a gamepad to move the camera around in replays. Anyway a mouse is still more accurate, just concentrate on doing smooth moves if you want your cameras to look good. ;)

You can Daksad, if you map the mouse to your right analogue stick using a joystick mapping program. I tried it a couple of years ago on FTO's old solo called 'FTO', it's still on my channel. I was shit at camera angles back then and I had to edit it in like 20 minutes before going on holiday I think, so it's not really an accurate portrayal of how they can be used, but I remember finding it far less versatile than using a mouse, didn't have as much control.

I will try it, maybe would look very cool if you use it for do intros

If I'm not wrong, Xpadder can map the analog sticks to work like a mouse ^^
Someone should try it out and show us some tests.
I personally could do it but I'm out of time :P
