I'm having a problem when I import .avi files into Vegas to work with. Whenever I do, it takes a good 20 minutes to import a few videos, and the program freezes all the way until right before it imports them. The same thing happens when I try to open a project with avi videos in it; takes a while to open, and freezes for a while. But afterwards, everything works just fine. It renders fast and in good quality, it's just a pain to get the videos there in the first place. The videos were recorded with fraps, and I don't really know what codec fraps uses. This is for Vegas Pro 10, and whatever the latest version of fraps is. Any solutions, or things I can install to make Vegas accept the files more easily and quickly?
pasting ftw

I have no idea, tho it may be some kind of encoding that your fraps is using... Tried with different vegas versions?

Been so far using Vegas Pro 9.0 which worked fine for me, but when my HDD crashed I lost everything, and had to install everything again and said, 'What about downloading Vegas Pro 10?'
I'm able to edit but it's so annoying to wait so long, also I doubt it has something to do with Vegas' version. I guess it must be the encoding which is the default one and I must modify something.
Anyways keep posting.

Install the trial version and see if you have the same problem. Sounds very fishy.
