Description
This mod adds extra optional settings to the stream.ini file, which already contains several settings for GTASA. There are currently 9 extra settings. I'm working on finding some more to add.
Options
- Frame Delay
- Frame Limit
- Black Roads Fix
- License Plate Filtering
- Stencil Shadow Opacity
- Disable Interior Reflections (alt+tab bugfix)
- Disable Motion Blur
- Disable Sound
- Disable Collision Particles
- Disable Flashes
- Disable Heat Haze
- Disable Clouds
- Disable Target Blip
- Disable Specular Vehicle Lighting
- Disable Vehicle Lighting
This mod works with both CLEO 4 and CLEO 3.
Visit the CLEO Website (http://"http://cleo.sannybuilder.com") for the latest version of CLEO.
Note that if the mod doesn't work, it is probably due to an .exe error. You must have a v1.0 US gta_sa.exe file for this mod to work. Download a supported version here (http://sannybuilder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=848).
I've noticed this mod has been popularised by GTAStunting for use in increasing FPS via the "framedelay" option. However, a lot of people don't seem to understand how this value actually works, so I'll explain it.
In previous GTA games for the PC, high framerate had become an issue. The main menu became buggy on high-end PC's and the game wasn't capable of rendering physics properly between frames... So Rockstar added a 14 milleseconds delay of sorts (because they are cheapskates). If the computer rendered the frame faster than 14 milleseconds, it would have to wait the rest of the time before rendering the next.
This puts a limit on the FPS of high-end PCs to about 71.42 FPS. Which is 1000 (milleseconds) divided by 14.
So, adjusting "framedelay" can increase the global framerate limit of the game. A value of 10 should give a clean limit of 100 FPS and a value of 5 should relatively give a limit of 200 FPS. This only works if the computer can render a frame faster than the "framedelay" time in milleseconds.
A value of 0 would give an amazing 1000 FPS limit, which cannot actually be achieved by the computers of today (not that I know of, anyway... my max FPS is 40) - but a framerate this high would surely cause bugs for GTASA and probably other games.
So, I'd say instead of just setting this value to anything, think about what you actually need.
Stunters seem to be speculating whether using this can be cheating. I wouldn't say so. People with different framerates are always going to find it easier to do different stunts, no matter whether this value is edited or not. In some ways, a low value with this can cause more ease in some stunts, in others, it may make things harder. I think it's stupid to discriminate against whether stunters should use this or that setting in their game, because San Andreas was never made to make stunting fair. It's not the most consistent of games.
Furthermore, this value was made for adjusting, not setting to 0. If you do that, you'll probably get bugs. I use the value 0 since I can't get a high framerate anyway, so if I'm lucky enough to get a single frame to render faster than 14 milleseconds, I wan't that bit of FPS increase. This can be used hand in hand with the frame limiter.
Bet that strained your eyes, eh?
Last Update (0.4b): Added 4 new options and fixed a possible bug.

- Disable Collision Particles
So that one is modded ? i meant if we stunt with ? but the original one which only contain frame limit is modded or no ?

It's a good modification, but the fact is that framedelay option causes effects for stunters that can't be replicated without it. I don't know why, but even with FL on (30fps with this modification) it enables you to do things that are otherwise impossible. So if you use this for stunting, it's modding :P

With 30 fps? What are these things that are impossible with 30 FPS?

The frame delay is the time before the frame renders, so it works well irrelevant of FPS assuming the computer renders any number of frames faster than 14ms. So even if this value only takes effect every X frames, it's still taking effect. This, in a way, could make the FPS more unstable, but only for slower computers (in my case, it makes it more stable at 0, because it's really crap).
I've not seen or noticed any differences in gameplay (probably because my computer is slow) with this, although it has kept my FPS more stable and allowed me to actually do that tapping [Lean Forward] to get onto the smallest of buildings... Without this, I can't stunt, with it, I at least have a chance... So I am still going to be shunned for using mods to actually allow me to stunt? I stunt mainly for fun, anyway. The problem is, most stunters don't understand modding so well, so many theories I've read here always confuse me.
Anyway, Stream Ini Extender had an update last night (0.3b, whimmy wham wham wozzle!) which extends support to most GTASA v1 .exe's and adds 2 new settings for FPS or visual delight... 'njoy!

Amazing modification, I've got my FPS set to around 170-200. If you go any higher, then replay's tend to look weird. I also don't see how this somewhat "changes physics", I usually run at 120 FPS normally & so I set it to 120 with the mod and found it gave no physical changes whatsoever. I think the theory that this mod changes the physics is just circumstantial, I found no change and in replay.rep's you can see no change except for a smoother stunt.

Cant dling -.-

For those of you who cannot download it from the links provided in the original post, I've packed together all the files that are required.

That sux -.-

Amazing, finally was able to get it working with the help of delfy. If i set it to zero my fps goes to 2000 and i cant play. Setting it to 1 lowers it to 500-600 but there's too many glitches(leaning foward without accelerating automatically makes you do a stoppie, and if you hit a Unique Stunt Jump the camera gets stuck).
Anyone know of a sacc like trainer that works with cleo, using both at the same time crashes my SA. :|

Fixed the link (you guys have gotta learn about URLs, lol) - BB Code seemed to mess up my URL.

My SACC seems to work fine with the cleo mod. Although, SAMP doesn't work for me now for some reason.. I even tried a fresh install for SAMP, doesn't work.

Fuck me then, it must be one of my SACC settings. Ill try removing my gravity settings. :ninja:
-
SACC doesn't retain the option for gravity settings
-
It was the fucking sacc spawner, which happens to be the best part. :(
-
dont see the difference <_<
-
Please say you were smart enough to read the file labeled "Read This.txt"?
-
Reading Juan's part made me decide not to download this at all. What is wrong with fl-off? There is no need to extend the borders even more and making SA go off the cliff instead of trying to avoid it or ramp over it :cheersad: Anyone that says this isn't modding stuntingwise need a new brain..
-
Have you ever script modded the .exe? I think it's best to know that kind of stuff before you can go making assumptions like that.
Do you even understand the purpose of this mod? It seems you don't. This mod barely has anything to do with frame limiter.
-
Cool
Smooth gameplay :a-cheer:
I didn't get any glitches

i can roll them boosts with 60 fps <_<
It's a dream come true
-
But someone needs to teach me how to do that with 20fps...
I think it will take a bit more till I get to 60fps.. one can dream, though! 40fps has been the limit so far.
-
Love this tool, I helped Joker install it and crap.. he went from 20-30 FPS to 40-60 FPS. :a-cheer:
-
got from 60-70fps to 100-130, cam is stucked in weird way and it seems like gravity has changed lol
-
Got from 120 fps to 120 fps. Amazing mod.

Weird for you:?
Someone got from 100 to 700.
-
Why ain't it working for me? :c
-
@Streem, remove the VCCam .cs file from your CLEO folder.
@SuspiciousOne, make sure you've added "framedelay 10" (without quotation marks) into your stream.ini file. The
#10 can be change higher for lower FPS or lower for higher FPS, I prefer it at around 8-10.
@Streem, also that game change feel from 60-70 to 120-130 is a very big change, I assume that is where you get
the gravity feel from. As I went from 60-70 to 120-130 when I had upgraded my hardware, I also thought shit was
weird.
-
Added and it still didn't change.
-
lol 800fps :euro:
-
i install this mod in my friend house
FPS without mod: 85
FPS with mod: 250-350
my fps is 30-35, i install it and no have diference of fps, but the rad is more perfectly, and the game is more clean :D

It's not, even with the FL on 30 frames you have the same feeling.

i guess i know better what do i feel, dont i? would you mind shutting the fuck up?
-
I was agreeing with you retard
-
Well if there is a same weird feeling at 30 FPS / FL-ON then yeah, this is modding then. :cheersad:
-
Shadowsniper is talking about a whole different option. Setting frame limiter to 30 will feel weird because it's originally set to 25. Framedelay sorta uncaps your fps further. What i gathered from Deji is that R* placed a lock on SA at around 120-140fps. Anyways didnt notice much difference between 500 and 120 fps, so i too have it locked at 120. :P
and SS stop modding.
-
What I'm talking about is that we tested this mod on SAMP a long time ago with 30fps (the default setting of FL on when you use this mod), and managed to get a rollboost style cabbie stunt with the normal horn button, a helicopter to float up by itself, and an overall experience that was definitely NOT possible without the mod. EDIT: another thing about that, you mention that Rockstar made a cap on the maximum frames you can reach. As we all know, an increase in framerate makes most aspects of stunting a lot easier. So surely it's modding to go past Rockstars limit whilst stunting? You could cap it at Rockstar's max, but even then from my own experiences this mod makes a physical difference even at low frame rates.
Oh and fuck off, I haven't released more than a few stunts in years, how would you know moron
-
Oh I know. :euro:
More fps will not make you reach new limits. SA's gravity isnt affected by fps. Also more fps will not increase the max speed of a vehicle. It makes radding smoother, but like i said new limits wont be reached. Modders will try to use the fps excuse but.... <_<
-
This extender is the best thing that apeared around here for some time. The framelimit/the noblur/no heat haze and no colision fx are my favorite.Good job.
THIS DESERVES A PIN!!

I realise the gravity/speed isn't affected by FPS, but it's the way these things are applied by the game at higher framerates that makes the difference. That's why you can get the perfect RADs, and why people have reported floating up into the air past 700fps with this mod.
-
0.7 was released ages ago. Enjoy.
-
Can't believe I missed that THE Deji posted this here :ninja: I guess it's up to peoples discretion as to whether they use this or not, though if they aren't doing gaps/airs I don't really see it being a problem? I don't know, I left SA alone because the games gravity seemed to change PC to PC.
Belated thanks for posting this though mate, any other mods posted here would no doubt be appreciated :)
