Title: 1920x1080
Post by: Rainbow on June 24, 2010, 08:28:51 AM
Saw some people run VC at 1920x1080 and I would love to try this out for recording good quality stuff.. so yea, how do I do this?     Looked on google but he didnt want to be my friend...  :(

Also, now I'm talking about quality, how do I render a great quality video in Vegas that isnt like 1GB for 3 minutes of video.. Cant really find the right settings.. and if I cant do this in Vegas, then how can I do this in an other way?  :hmm:

You don't add the audio to it.

Lock the video layer, move the audio away from the rendering part (you'll render it later) and then unlock the video layer :D

when you render use AVI and for codec use the HuffyV codec you dled for the tut. or use the Uncompressed option

SuspiciousOne: It's much safer to mute the audio track (there's a button for it to the left of the track) so you don't have to worry about moving it back to the correct spot.

Turtle Boy: I haven't confirmed this myself but I've read something about the colors becoming a bit more grey when using that.
The problem is that the old SD format's are using the Rec. 601 color space whilst Rec. 709 is used for HD.
I might be way off but regardless Huffyuv seems safer.

In case you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about.

(Edit: ^)

Daffy has told to use the Huffyuv in order to get smoother playback and colors closer to the original recordings, so go for that.

Render in Vegas and select .avi-format and change the codec to Huffyuv and use the default settings, then untick the Include Audio in the Audio-tab and just fill in the correct resolution and FPS (can't remember if they're already the ones you used with the project in Vegas).

a bit offtopic but now that we're talking about rendering n stuff, I still have this annoying problem with my outcoded outcome, still 'lags'.

are you trying to view your lossless AVI? cause if so you need some SERIOUS hardware to run that without lags, you should render it into a .mkv and then see if it lags. my PC plays 1080 MKVs no problem but if i try to watch the 50gb AVI straight of the bat, it lags alot.

Sounds weird.. but anyway, is someone kind enough to upload the MKVtoolnix installer somewere or in a package. I know there is a dl link for windows on there site but everytime I try to dl it, it crashes after 2 mins which leaves me with nothing or the estimated download time is 3 days and 40 hours. FOR 5 MB  :euro:

So yea.. anyone has it? (and no its not my internet connection.. it just fails on that site for some reason. Tried downloading the new VR movie just too see if that happend aswell there but nope. Went with more then 400kb/s. and the mkvtoolnix installer or package is going with something way to close to 0....)

Well since I use the W7 64-bit Huffyuv one I can't play it with VLC but I can with MPC, which can run it just fine. oh and yes I'm talking about the lossless one now.

Rainbow: have you tried other mkvtoolnix downloads yet?

Bumping this up, cause I just made my first .mkv file. But its messed up, not in the sense of its doesnt work but in the sense of quality. I did everything like the tutorial and used all the 1280x800 stats in there.

But now I have a little problem. There are mysterious stipes in the outcome render  :( Like the wheel of my pcj isnt made out of pixels bit stripes that flicker all the time  :L If someone doesnt know what I mean ill upload a picture  :cc_detective:

Does it look like this?

If so you've rendered it as interlaced when it should be rendered as progressive.

Is it the box called ´field order`? (Vegas) and if so, then I should set it to none right?
Guess thats the solution so yea, thanks alot man  ;)

Correct, you should render a small segment to see if that solves it.

Problem is fully gone indeed. But Uploading a .mkv to youtube wont work for some reason. It is a accepted file container on YT but for some reason it cant be processed  :hmm: Someone knows a solution?

Read something about converting it to a .MP4.. but how will this affect my quality and other stuff like that? and if not, how can I do this in a good way?
