Creating depth
Author: Impulse
Made with Photoshop CS3 but can be done with lower ones.
Quick description: Easy way of creating depth

---------------------------------------------

Ive seen alot of signatures lately.
Some of em are great others could be better.
Most of em are lacking depth, now must ppl find it hard to create depth into there signature.
This tutorial shows u how easy it is to create depth

So let’s give depth of field a go.
Heres the PSD to start off with, or u can just read it its basicly selfexplaining.
Creating depth PSD (http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=22O79EQ0)

This is how i started 3 simple balls.

This PSD has 4 layers. Each ball has its own name. Small, Medium and Large. Then u have the background for the objects in the PSD. Using the Move Tool, drag each of the balls to a place in the document, so that the medium ball is closer to the viewer.
Note: U can add some grid lines to help show our imaginary plane.

From this point, we just need to decide where we’d like to focus in on. I chose that the larger ball is the one we are focussing on. After you decided that. Then proceed to blur the objects. I used gaussian blur.
Important: The further from the area you’re focusing on, the stronger the blur should be.

Voila, and you created a depth!
This effect is can almost be used by ANY design

Here to see the difference

you didn't add the shadow on the ground n you added a fade all around .. hey that rhymes lol.. KILL IT!

nah cool tut n nice try  but i reckon if the smaller ball was a lil higher it would work better, hold up

here, took like 10 mins  i didn't read your text just looked at your photo so i duno if i did it the right way but i reckon it works..

also 1 thing i did but looking at your pics you didn't was edit the contrast of the back 2 circles.. make the distant one about 30% contrast and the middle one like 50 n just leave the main one helps imo

That doesnt always work in signatures, and if u put the focus on the middle ball the contrast wouldnt rlly apply good.
But thanks for the heads up, its idd a good tip

just figured out what i was trying to get last time.. some sorta of connection between em.. like vectors, i reckon maybe lengthy shadows might do the trick, i'll give that a shot

*so far no luck, i'll keep trying*
