Well . Im going to buy a new video card . My computer is 5 years old and it has a shitty videocard right now . It's Nvidia Geforce4 64 MB . Something like this. Well the new one is Nvidia Gefroce 8600GT 1024 MB . I dont know how good my processor is , but if i will buy it and my processor isn't so good will it still work and can i play games? . My friend sayd that if your processor is weak then it will read the videocard , but in games the loading are very very slow . So.Maybe you can say where i can see how good my processor is or you got some other way? .

That's pretty poo...
VC will be fine and so will SA though, but maybe further down the line get a better CPU...
and if your computer is as old as you say it is will the graphics card even be compatible with your motherboard?

I have the feeling that your computer is still using AGP (Or even PCI...) just like mine - so the card you were aiming for won't be possible. Not to mention that there is no use for a fast GPU if your CPU and RAM sucks..

Kk . That helped me now . I quess i gotta search for another one then Would it load this one? NVIDIA GeForce8500GT graphiccard 512MB

No, it's still PCI-E. Download EVEREST (http://www.lavalys.com/) and check out which Motherboard and Processor you have.

Witch kind of video card suits me then? . I hope i can still get 256 :/
CPU Type Intel Celeron, 2600 MHz (26 x 100)
Motherboard ID 12/26/2002-SiS-646-6A6IXG0XC-00
Motherboard Name Gigabyte GA-8ST800(-L)
-
GIGABYTE GA-8ST800
Socket 478, SiS 650DX chipsatz, 533/ 400 MHz FSB, 3x DDR DIMMs DDR266 max 3GB + 2x DDR DIMMs DDR333 max 2GB, 2 x UDMA ATA 133/ 100/ 66 Bus Master IDE ports, 2x USB 2.0, 1x AGP4x, 5x PCI
So you gotta look for AGP - but its not even AGP8x which is yeh... stupid (but 8x isn't much faster anyway)
Well I think the newest card for AGP by nvidia is the 7800 GS. I use a 6800 GS myself but it didn't gave me any performance increase over my old Radeon 9600 SE.
I guess you have to replace your whole PC in the near future.
However, I m not doing much with hardware - better wait for someone with more knowledge in that area

I cant find any AGP-s in the stores . Most of VGA-s . SHIT! . VGA 256MB Palit Ati Radeon HD2400 PRO, 64bit, DDR-2 SONIC ? Fine?
Kk . I found a work AGP in this one . So this one is fine? VGA 512MB Sapphire HD 2600 AGP, DVI/TV
-
I would suggest you to get a whole new computer, though I don't know about your sitation with money so...

When you own a computer that old, it's time for a full upgrade. You cannot upgrade one thing and leave the rest. You will bottleneck your system and still have shitty performance.
It's similar to having a load of fat people in a food eating contest then putting your bet on the skinny man to win.

Kk . Thanks alot guys . Thanx to you im going to have a new computer now . THANKS

I bought exactly the same card a couple of months ago. It will work for you, but make sure to have enough watts or it will look like this..

I returned it after a while because my power supply was way too weak..

Hoff: That doesn't look like a problem with the power supply, I had the same problem a few days ago. It was caused by drivers which didn't support all the DX Textures. However, some cards don't even have good drivers so you get results like that.

Yeah, I'm not very good at computers so I might be wrong. However, I did try different drivers, and I reinstalled them and all like.. 15 times (and I'm not even kidding). I made sure to delete every single part of the old drivers and so. It still didn't want to work so it was something else than the drivers..
I realised that my power supply was embarrasingly weak though, and I just couldn't be arsed to buy a new one. Now I use a Geforce 4 while waiting for a new computer. (I'll get one later this summer).
