Title: help!
Post by: FTO on March 15, 2008, 08:06:23 PM
something fucking wrong with my computer..last saturday when i was playing SA,suddenly the fan of my CPU didn't work and it lasted for about 8 seconds then it was ok..then about 30 minutes later it happened again..but i didn't fix it because i thought it was not very serious..last sunday i was playing TDU and suddenly my TDU gone about 5-10fps(normal it's 40-50fps)so i quited TDU and back to the desktop..but i found the whole system got slow, like just a half CPU work

then on monday my dad fixed the fan and it worked, and he found some capacitances of the CPU nearly fucked up so he changed those things..and i tried, still like a half CPU worked..in the past i got 50fps in SA but now i just got 10fps-30fps,so i can just play VC but i really want SA because i just wanted to record something!

and i checked my PC but no virus or torjans in it and no strange programmes working

my PC:
Intel i845G
CPU-Pentium 4 2.00GHz
ram-512MB DDR
ATI 9600 256MB

i hope someone can work out my problem..big thanks to you

Sounds like you fried your CPU a bit. My only advice would to be get a new one.

CPU only last for a couple of minutes when the cooling fails.. They rapidly raise up the temperature's that you can cook an egg on it, if your CPU is fried, it shouldn't work at all anymore.. But your saying the PC is just running slow?

Well there was probably some overheating in there because when p4 cpus are too heated they slow down as to not break, and if your fan broke thats probably what happened... I wouldn't recommend getting a new cpu any more than just saving up towards getting another computer..
