i dunno how you made the water look like smoke, but its damn pretty
-
someone from school sent me a email asking how i took the first shot, so i figured i would post my response here as well.
1- got up at 4-30am and walked around 1 km to the beach right down to the corner with all the rocks, long walk was hard cause i had a camera, three lenses, tripod and cokin system. its still dark at this point.
2- when i down on the beach i walk around and frame some shots handheld at iso3200 f/2.8 1/30 or w/e, just to see what sort of composition and am looking for and looking for shots that work.
3- once i find some shots that work, i set u my tripod where ever i need it to be, mount a polarizing filter on top to give me a extra 2 stops for when the sun comes up, then i add my cokin system to give it s a nice pink color (cokin system Click (http://www.cokin.co.uk/photos/digi1.jpg) )
4- then i set up my bounce reflector to highlight the backs of the rocks or whatever i am shooting, this takes forever to get right and i have to run and pick it up before it gets wet (Click (http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3350/d220gy8.jpg))
5- i then mount camera and all that stuff, wack it in manual, i will use the first shot as an example , that was shot at 100iso 5 secs f/22 @18mm.
6- taking th shot involves waiting for the water to wash over the rocks and create a nice effect through a longer shutter speed.
7- once i have a shot for the water, i take another exposure for the sky, without moving my camera i shoot a under exposed shot of the sky to give it some nice dark colors,
8- then i combine the two shots in photoshop and adjust the whole image.
9- go and get it printed

Do you have them in a bigger resolution? If so, can you send them to me please? They would look awesome as a wallpaper.
