Title: WinRar Or .Zip?

Which is better? Every1 seems to use WinRar, and it sucks because I don't like the look of it, but most files are in .Rar format. Which one do you use, and why?

WinRar: it compresses better, it can span multiple archives (like split up a 1Gb file into a 700 & 300 mb piece to fit on a CD), and just more popular. Im sure winzip can do stuff too, but its like the difference between IE & FireFox, Winrar being Firefox and Winzip being IE. Or something.

Both most powerfull archievators =] Also, how come you care about the program look that you use maximum 5 mins a day... just to unrar

WinRAR just because it is a good powerful archiver that does everything I need and really isn't that big of a filesize, so even if you're not putting much use into it, it isn't gonna get in the way with its filesize.

I use Winrar.. but only because it's needed for unpacking warez.

If I'm gonna compress and send some files to someone, I usually make it a .zip, since I'm afraid that they won't have winrar installed..

I used to use Winzip but after using Winrar I can safely say FUCK WINZIP!

The funny thing is why every1 are still answering "WinRar" is coz WinZip cant open .rar files LOl

Before, I used WinAce, was also cool. Now I use the WinRar free Version.

I use both, winzip is faster and the compression differances aren't very different at all so......use both
