I find this topic comes up a lot.

I now am in the same situation and need help.

I have gone over this forum a dozen times for tips and ideas for codecs and compression. I have tried a lot of ideas I have basically gone through every option and am sill not happy with my results.

I have a 4:44 min video and rendering is coming out at 236MB I have videos from other stunters that go over 6 minutes and are coming in at 130 MB with nice clearity. For my video to match that file size the quality is horrible, but to have decent clearity it comes out at 200MB+

I am trying to stick with wmv as it seems to have better results for me than XVid and DivX, and I know mp4 requires software to play and I am trying to avoid it.

Can any one help me out with this?

I am using Vegas 7 and rendering from Vegas no third party software, also my audio is bumped down to 80 kbps 44.1 CBR.

*Krow - I am rendering as wmv at the resolution I want, if I lower it anymore it will be a small video.

*memorex - As mentioned before I am trying to avoid mp4 as I know you need a specific player and i was to avoid people having to do another download or installing anything to view it. But I know the mp4 quality is the best right now.

*Juan - I tried one at video resolution 720x408 and another at 640x288 I think. Either way the videos both times were way too big for what the others are at that resolution.

That is the kind of quality I am looking for but cannot seem to get. It's a sharp video and the size is around 60+MB.

*Juan - resolution was 800x600 on fraps for capturing.

*memorex - I am trying to use wmv for mid quality but the file size is way to large, do you know what kind of settings you are using?

Don't ever use x264, that is shit.

I have alot of hte same problems too (when I render a long video), but mine isn't as big as yours.

For WMV render at 25 fps, 1280X720. Use 6 mbps for HQ, and about 3 for MQ.

Alright, Got Sweets help.

The vid is a good size now and alright quality I used 3MB bit rate with CBR (two-pass) Sharpness 100% wmv.

Thanks everyone for your help, except Daffy, calling me a fag only made YOUR filesize bigger.
