Oblivion didn't have that great of level of detail in the landscape, there are tons of mods to change and make it better. I wonder if Peds will be able to swim this time..

Misc.
- There will be no planes, but helicopters are included.
- Public transportation takes a bigger role.
- Don't expect the more fantastical elements from past GTA's such as bikes and jetpacks.
- You can leave the ingnition turned on , so that when you leave the car the radio continues playing.
- Helicopters have the ability to land on almost every building.
- You can open the trunk and store items in there.
- The Admiral will be in this game.
- Niko can use taxis to get around (presumably he can use the phone to call a taxi). The police are much more vigilant in GTA IV, and sometimes it is less hassle using a taxi than jacking someone's car. The trip-skip option is available for convenience.

No bikes but thank fuck there's the admiral - not even Brulla could pull off a decent stunt in a bloody admiral!

EDIT: I think an early example of Scots humour is evident here:

- DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is now BOABO (Beneath the Offramp of the Algonquin Bridge Overpass)

BOABO looks suspiciously like BOABY - a slang term in certain areas of Scotland for 'penis'  to me they've done their best to recreate it but no words beginning with 'Y' could replace 'Overpass' it seems. Just my theory but I think it's a good one as Rockstar have made several Scots references in the game before, both with VC and SA.

They showed a demo but cameras weren't allowed  but from what people have said it was nothing special

It sucks that there is going to be no planes though. Flying planes has always been the most fun thing in the past GTA's =(
