Title: Trial By Fire
Post by: kaneda on June 16, 2007, 07:46:41 PM: Okay...so here tis - the new crew vid. Just a few things to note about this one:

- Daffy is a guest stunter. Unfortunately working him into the official intro was gonna prove too much of a pain. The intro was done before he was 'officially' in the vid, so there's no definitive mention of him as a guest stunter.
- The intro and outro were created by Neo. I didn't mention it in the credits as it was gonna push an already long vid even longer.
- As mentioned, the vid is long - 11:23. This, naturally, pushed up the vid's file size. Low and toob renders will be forthcoming soon. The stunts don't run the entire length, there's just a lot of cinematic content. We just had fun with it and made it into a show.
- Neo's workload on this particular vid is STAGGERING. Thanks so much to him for the tremendous amount of work he put in.

nice vid guys, standouts for me were dannye, docta luv, and kaneda. you guys pulled off some really creative stuff in here.

great stunts in there, with some old ones, i really hated the music, and i didnt like that it was black and white-ish.

the scripting part was outstanding, everything was extremely well planned

i might write a full review later, but good vid guys, 8/10

Post by: Rocka on June 16, 2007, 08:26:32 PM: Well, I watched it on Filefront, but there's still about 10 minutes until it's done downloading. There were pros and cons to it, but overall I loved the video.

Kaneda was my favorite in here. Although everyone else did exceptionally well, I thought he stood out the most. That stunt at the construction site was incredible. The editing was good and such, but other stuff annoyed me. I disliked the main song. The whole black and white thing took away what I thought could've been a better video.

But still, it's the stunts that matter, not the editing. So you all win a cookie, baked with love.

Nice job guys, I can't wait for the next ATS video.

I just didn't have a feel for the vid. However the editing was superb and the intro and outros were great, the last tid bit was...yea...

The stunts were outstanding as per the usual in an ATS vid, however for an 11 and a half minute vid I would've like to see more stunts (or shorten the vid). I just wasn't in to some of the other stuff, although it really looked great.

Ever since Mut8tion, I have seen ATS go down hill, as in your last 2 videos. Don't get me wrong The Awakening was good, but It just didn't live up to the others, and neither did this. (Neo did a great job tho.) I understand that the members of ATS have became increasingly busy, but the crew has doubled in size and I have not seen any improvement. It seems you guys were better off before the merge. Maybe now that you have a shoulder to lean on you're not using your feet as much as you used to.

It seemed as you spent more time and thought on the intro, scripting, and all the effects in the video, then you did on the stunts. The stunts were good but it seemed like the same old thing I have seen in every other ATS video. Back in the day you guys used to manage to be creative, and push the limits of stunting, but now your stunting within the set bounds and you can tell. Maybe you guys need to realize that some stunts do require RADS method. You have always been the types to bring new stuff into stunting, and now it seems like your rejecting what others have brought. Maybe you should except the new wave of stunting and build upon that. Basically what I am saying is that your video seemed kind of generic, and it had some old stunts as well. I'm not saying that your video dident have a wow factor because you didn't conform, it is defiantly unique and a awesome video, but it was lacking somthing.

Besides for what I pointed out it was a great video. You still haven't toped your selves, but that's ok because I understand you guys are in it for fun now, and are no longer dedicated to stunting.

I feel bad posting this because I don't want to discourage you guys, I think its awesome to see most of the ATS guys together in a video, especially Samurai.

Saying more time seemed to spent on effects and scripting than was spent on the stunts is a bit rough too. It diminishes stunts that some of us (MOST of us, in fact) spent a lot of time on. Whether anyone considers them to be good or bad is not that relevant (to me, at least). They're mostly personal challenges.

Everyone IS doing different things now, and the amount of time we have isn't what it used to be. Aries is in school, as is Dannye. Sam's working two jobs, I'm running a business and have to have time with my girlfriend (who's more important than anything), Nitz has started working AND has classes, I believe. Try to keep in mind that most of the members of ATS are over 20, and have responsibilities and commitments outside stunting. The vid is what it is...a show. The members didn't stunt, and I didn't edit to cater to anyone apart from the boys in the crew. If ya like it, great...if ya don't...great .

I'm not trying to make any excuses (mainly because I don't need to), I'm just trying to give you an idea of why we might be tapering off somewhat. Everyone's lives are moving in different directions. Don't take offense to my response to your criticism...I actually appreciate someone who has the wan-tans to say what they think. I just thought some of your points weren't really well thought out. But thanks for the response

P.S. I'll die before I resort to RAD's...hehe.

I recommend downloading the HQ all the same guys.

Neo did all the scripting I think that you seen in this video...certainly the intro and outro, definitely.

I enjoyed the video. The black/white thing seemed to have a negative impact though, almost as if it drained the excitement a bit. It was a very unique video, and I did not want it to end. I was expecting some stunts to keep flowing and was a bit sad to see that it didn't, but ATS have to be given respect for being different due to a fair portion of the crew being literal adults - as in they can legally vote, they have education AND jobs to juggle, their own familes (in Neo's case) and such. This is who ATS are. Dannye, Docta Luv, Kid A and Aries need to stop being considered as 'formerly DSU' as well, they are ATS as well and don't disappoint. I found it hard to accept the merge at first, but it's working out quite fine.

Feron - I'm sure the upcoming WH vid will counter for the lack of RAD's method shown in this stunt video... I accept the method but I don't use it, so let's end it at that

How the hell did you do those stop motion shots? After the intro the frozen stunter with camera moving... WTF? HOW?

The editing was absolutely perfect. I mean, he synched EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. Only the songs didn't do it. Prodigy is good, but I seriously, do hate them.

The stunts were great, some were a bit done but who gives a fuck. They were top-notch and there were a few standouts but its great to see Samurai stunting again. That grind of his really made me want to stunt lol. There were a few stunts ruined by camera angles, such as Neo's friggin super awesome precision and high p2b, but hey, no one is perfect.

Great job on this one, the B&W effect would be great, but not for the whole video, just for some parts to synch with the music.

DevConsole's 'gofreeze' function, and coded offset co-ord cam movements that were button triggered. Just a little set of threads and DevConsole needed. PM me if you wanna know more

Stunts:
03.03 - Aries - Very smooth FBI bump. I love it how you didn't get huge height but just enough to get the roof.
03.09 - Madmax - I'm not a big fan of packerbumps but seeing them done on a Pizzaboy isn't bad.
03.14 - Aries - I think I tried this ages ago. Looking good man, haven't seen one of those in a while.
03.17 - Daffy - Great rotation on this one.
03.22 - Nitzkit - Really liked this one Awesome natural stunt.
03.27 - kaneda - Poletab to precision gap
03.31 - Samurai - Looks alot cleaner than THEFTman's version, good job!
03.38 - Docta Luv - A good grind done at a classic spot, very nice.
03.45 - Neo - Not a bad p2b, but I didn't particularly like it.
03.52 - Dannye - Great Infernus wallride haven't seen one of those in ages!
04.08 - Aries - Great long distance p2b
04.15 - Dannye - Poletab to grind, well done!
04.22 - Docta Luv - A boat BB grind
04.29 - Dannye - VC Catapulting! Awesome find man! You're the kr3mlin of VC!
04.36 - Aries - Impressive looking grind man!
04.46 - Daffy - Sweet grind combo One of the best looking ones in the vid!
04.59 - NightKid - This has been done alot so I kinda expected you to land the higher part.
05.05 - Aries - We don't see alot of BB landings these days. Great BSM spin to BB!
05.09 - kaneda - Natural bump to precision landing!
05.13 - Neo - Old spot, new landing with a nice rotation.
05.19 - Madmax - A spin to grind in a Pizzaboy - awesome!
05.27 - Samurai - Great idea with a perfect execution!
05.33 - Ever since Neo got LC working you don't see him doing anything besides packerbumping everything This one doesn't look easy to land.
05.40 - Nitzkit - This is how it should've been done. Who needs packers?
05.47 - Madmax - Sweet bridge gaps!
05.59 - Dannye - I think Question did it before but it really is an awesome cabbie stunt. Might be the only possible way to get on that roof too.
06.07 - kaneda - Another awesome grind in this vid! Really impressive. One of my favorites!
06.16 - Nagual starts where kaneda ended - sweet grind combo man!
06.28 - Dannye - Haha didn't see that coming
06.37 - kaneda - How can anyone not like this? Bigass natural bump to precision landing
06.42 - Docta Luv - A good height p2b to a small landing space, lookin good!
06.47 - Dannye - Creative little wallride combo you got going on here!
06.51 - Daffy - Awesome gap to grind!
06.58 - Nagual - Smooth old school combo.
07.04 - Aries - Nice new method but it doesn't look like it's gonna be very usefull. Another way to stuck something.
07.10 - Neo - Another one! Liked the backwards landing on this, GJ!
07.14 - Samurai - Great palm spin to grind
07.27 - KidA - I thought you weren't gonna be in the vid but you pulled off a great natural stunt with a nice rotation!
07.31 - Madmax - 2 Pizzaboy stoppie combo double grabs - a great way to finish the vid. Good job!

Overall:
Another kickass video from ATS packed with awesome and creative stunts. You were trying something different with this video's style and I think what you wanted it to be turned out great. Editing went very well with the song choice. Overall I slightly prefer The Awakening over this one mainly because of the colors and song - but I shouldn't compare them seeing as how both vid got a totally different style.
Daffy getting beaten up in the end is priceless

The stunts were great as always, but I had a really hard time "feeling" and "catching" them. I really don't know how to describe this, it's very hard.

It's really an unique vid. I have to watch it another time, will comment more later.

I just enjoyed watching it though, it was so well edited and the music gave it such an obscure, night time feel, as well as the black and white which would have lost that feel had it not been there. So incredibly different to The Awakening it's hard to believe it's the same people. There was some brilliant stuff by Docta Luv, Aries and Dannye I thought.

A couple of things that annoyed me: I don't think the name "Trial By Fire" suited the video's feel at all. Also, that bit at the end with the giants walking around, whist cool, seemed kind of tacked on for the sake of it. I thought that last scene beating the shit out of Daffy was should have lead straight into the credits and the giant idea should have been saved for future use. I dunno, it just felt kind of odd to have 2 outro themes.

The intro was just epic, I was totally in awe. Over all, the whole thing as a package was something totally original and unique, which in my eyes made it great.

To see you stunt is great and you didn't disappoint this time either. Dannye stunts were so awesome, all very different and perfectly executed. Everyone had some really nice stunts though, Daffy's grinds were sweet and kaneda seems always to do something crazy at that construction yard. What I missed would be some more stunts by Nagual, guess he hasn't been able to stunt that much for this vid (since that stoppie combo was sent to Interlocked too).

The editing was very cool and unique. I'm not sure if all "parts" of the vid fit that well together, but it sure was cool to watch. Don't really like the main song, but it worked ok. As always though, better quality wouldn't have hurt...

Another great ATS vid, thank you for still stunting.

Stunts:
Aries: FBI bump: Very nice stunt. I'm kinda bored of those kinda stunts tho.
Maxmax: PB: A tricky angle to bump to the roof. Pretty cool.
Aries: Backflip: Nice use of the sign for the flip. I liked it.
Daf-fy: BSM: Huge BSM and a great use of the stairs as a "ramp".
Nitzkit: Ramp 2 bonk: Looks tricky to get the bonk right. Not hugely impressive tho.
Kaneda: Pole bump: Great idea, smoothly through the gap. Great stunt.
Samurai: Good bump, but Theftman did it and Fugitive(?) did it without the tank.
Docta Luv: Tank bump 2 krail 2 grind. Good use of the reality mod. Not sure how difficult it is tho.
Neo: Packerbump: I thought about this and thought the runup too short for such a high tricky PB. Uou proved me wrong, awesome stunt.
Dannye: Car wallride: Awesome wallride, shame you landed upside down.
Aries: PB: Awesome PB. Great distance and such a smooth krail through the air.
Dannye: Pole bump 2 grind: Nice technical stunt. Glad you grinded it all.
Docta Luv: Boat bump 2 BB grind: I think Dannye may have done this or something similiar but its still great.
Dannye: Grenade boost: Very creative and nice spin. Roof or the containers would've been a nicer landing tho.
Aries: PSM krail 2 grind: Very impressive spin 2 grind. Should've tried for the whole fence tho.
Daf-fy: Raised packer 2 ramp 2 krail 2 grind: Awesome idea and brilliantly executed. A top combo stunt.
Nightkid: PB: A good PB but terribly old.
Aries: BSM: Great spin and nice landing.
Kaneda: Bump: Great way of landing the precision. Awesome.
Neo: PB: Big PB. I liked it.
Madmax: Grind: Nice spin 2 grind but the lock for the grind wasn't their so it looked very sketchy.
Samurai: BSM: Lovely idea. those BB's are great to land.
Neo: PB: Yet another big PB. Again its great.
Nitzkit: Natural ramp: Kan's stunt without the packer. It's good but doesn't have the same effect as when I first saw Kan land there.
Maxmax: Plane stunt: Good stunt but plane stunts bore me in VC.
Dannye: Taxi boost: Sick stunt. Always wanted to land there. Great use of those buildings.
Kaneda: Wallride 2 grind: Oh so creative and a fucking awesome stunt.
Nagual: I like the idea but the wheelie ends before the use of the packer so it isn't too tricky :S
Dannye: Taxi boost 2 bail: Great precision but a credit stunt if you ask me.
Kaneda: Natural ramp 2 bonk: Sickness! A completely natural precision stunt that reeked of quality
Docta Luv: PB: Huge PB. Nice one mate.
Dannye: Wallride 2 roof: Kinda cool wallride 2 roof. I don't like it much tho.
Daf-fy: Bump 2 krail 2 grind: The gap is hard enough let alone krail 2 grind also. Very good stunt.
Nagual: Ramp 2 krail 2 stoppie: These combos are tricky and this one was pulled off smoothly. Great stunt.
Aries: PlaneSM(?): Cool new method, but I hope we can get bigger air of it than that
Neo: PB: Great PB.
Samurai: Bump 2 krail 2 grind: Great stunt, althought Daf-fys cork version kinda takes the sickness away but I still loved it.
Kid A: Bump: Very tricky bump into the stadium. North bug would've caused problems too.
Madmax: Stoppie 2 grab 2 grab x2: Loved both of them. Maybe shouldn't have been finishers too the vid tho.

Editing: The main didn't live up to the name "trial by fire" but the editing was superb. Brilliant effects which synched very well. I'm not sure about the black and white but it didn't bother me much. Great job Kan.

Overall: Another awesome vid to add to the collection. Keep it up guys.

Also, I think people may have been a bit disappointed in this vid is because it wasn't all about "Let's RAD, bump or PB too the biggest roof we could find". But bollocks to that, its only in an ATS vid where you'd see such creativity as in this vid. I feel almost as if stunting is just about as high a roof you can reach nowadays, which I hope it isn't.

The intro, thanks guys for liking it. I thought it was pretty cool.

Just a note about the outro. It in no way reflects any bad feelings toward Daffy. The whole idea about him messin up our bikes at the end and us gettin him back was all for the humour of it. Daffy is much respected by ATS.

The B&W video. It was originally an idea Kan and I had to do an intro with. After I converted LC it just seemed a waste of work not to use it for something more. So Nitz, Kan and I did a rush job on VC and it was decided that the whole vid would follow this theme. It's just something different we wanted to try out.

@Feron, thanks man for speaking your mind about the vid. You did it in a way that I can respect and your right on some points. We probably didn't spend the kinda time on stunts as we have in the past. To be honest, after almost 4 years of this it's amazing any of us still have an interest to even try.

Anyways thanks again to Daffy for havin a sense of humour, to Kan for his fantastic job on puttin this all together and to the guys in the crew for all their efforts to make this a pretty cool little vid.

about that grind. I've locked a few times on it but when I would hit the wall I would fall off. That was the only way i could see it possible to do that spiin grind without falling off my pizzaboy.

Intro to ze review: I'm sure the second you scroll down the forums and see a new topic in the ATS section you are practically ready to piss your pants. (As you are for other crew vids ) So you anxiously wait and wait for your download to be done until Firefox gives you a little pop-up tell you that the latest ATS vid is done DLing. In a constant rush you hurry to open up the file, to watch it in VLC, Winamp or WMP; you can't choose since your all giddy giddy with joy.

Stunts:(I picked out my favorites and the ones I just seemed to like a lot)
3:40 (Docta Luv): Great stunt man, from the starting I noticed several old stunts and thought that this stunt was going to be a golden oldie also, but that grind proved me wrong. Awesome stunt dude it was really clean looking.
3:53 (Dannye): When I saw this my mouth made an expression that was sort of like " " the stunt was absolutely great man, it must've been really hard since the rail didn't have a arc to it who cares if you didn't land it on your wheels, the stunt is really one of the best ones out there.
4:18 (Dannye): I could never do those kinds of bumps off poles, maybe because I never tried them. Another instant classic from you Dannye.
4:30 (Dannye): This one was the biggest standout for me in the entire video. It shows that someone is pushing the limits of stunting to see how far it can go. For me this stunt shows the evolution of stunting overall, from the great push off airgrabs from 04 to this fantastic stunt; jumping onto a bike couldn't have looked any better. Although this type of stunt is very limited to the area it is performed on I'm hoping to see more of it.
4:55 (Daffy): Really nice and unexpected stunt d00d. I liked the cool landing at the end.
5:12 (Kaneda): Fantatstic stunt man, the bump, the spin, the landing - it couldn't have been any better (well, unless you did a backflip )
5:29 (Samurai): I've was looking for a way to land there and I've had several ideas, nice job on landing on that billboard thing bro.
5:36 (Neo): Great stunt man, I loved it but there was something that made it hard for me to appreciate the stunt.
6:00 (Dannye): So many people have landed on top of the construction site in LC, way to mix up it man. Really nice spin and landing.
6:12 (Kaneda): When you showed me your failed attempt at the stunt I was in awe, when I got to see this; I was amazed. Spectacular stunt.
6:17 (Nagual): Sick stunt, reminded me of GTAF.
6:30 (Dannye): After seeing all your stunts I needed to call a doctor to reattach my jaw, for some reason I thought you were going to do a airgrab back into the taxi.
6:49 (Dannye): First time I've seen Dannye on a black PCJ, my heart is filled with joy Probably the best PCJ wallride combo ever.
7:18 (Samurai): Awesome spin man, I liked your version of it so much more. I have a thing for PCJ grinds where the tail of the PCJ is in a area it shouldn't be (Like water, fire, the back edge of a roof and in other places )
7:24 (Kid A): Great job man, I've been trying to land on that and grind the rail connecting to the lower portion of the roof using that bump. Cool little bonk at the end.
7:30 (Madmax): Going for another one of those stoppie airgrabs again man...not this time. Loved seeing a double variation of that stunt, it was great the first time around but even better the second.

Intro / Outro: My favorite part were the big red letters at the dam, the music and everything just made it fit for me. I didn't see that skull logo anywhere in the vid. I liked it too when you guys beat teh shit out of Daffy too. The only part I didn't like was the goat thing.

Editing: You've probably heard this before but it's really good. I liked the use of the black and white mod in the first 20 seconds of the main part, didn't expect the entire vid to use it. I'm guessing you edited the timecyc to make VC and LC grayscale. The credits were top notch, and I don't say that about all the credits.

What to expect if you haven't seen it: This is definitely a twist from what others might call "the old ATS." There isn't anything thats old, it's just how you were accustomed to it at a different time frame. This video offers change, and change is something that is inevitable. You might not like it but it's going to happen. For me ATS has always been about the stunting but this video made it look like that you guys had started to care about the style of your videos. Feron offered some valid points in his little post de jourve (yes I just made that word up ) but ultimately it's up to the crew or the stunter to decide on what the video he / she / it creates. You guys make videos because of the way you want to, not because your making it better for others to watch. These guys aren't making this video just to impress you guys or whatever, and their probably not even making these videos to impress me either (Yea I know ) But whatever you guys do, before you start jumping to conclusions. Ask yourself this, do you make videos to impress yourself, others or just for fun.

Since you dont know the back story to this Ill just mention it, I was trying something else along that road, and everytime what I was trying didnt come out right I would try kan's stunt for fun. I managed to land it, but I wasn't trying that stunt for this vid....hell I wasnt trying ANY stunts for this vid... at risk of not being in this vid I sent that stunt in and the bonk I did, which is also a result of another stunt I was trying ...

Ok. I feel that RADs is a Meh method. The reason for this is that its to a point where theres no techical or anything anymore. Doing a bump at 30000mph means that you have absolutly no control on spins and landing and most it it is left to luck at that point. Without using Rads I feel like I have more control over my bike in the air and when I land. i would use it if i had a small runup but I don't think it is nessesary when you have a long runup. A 600 distance and 400 feet high jump doesn't impress me. its just more of the same. I am more into the techical side of stunting. Those little stunts that are eye candy and are a bitch to work because of perfect timing in all areas. This is my personal opinion on the matter though. It does not reflect what ATS thinks.

This was an amazing project to work on guys. I'd always wanted to be in an ATS vid...but due to life I had to bow out of Awakening. Now I got the chance to, and I gotta say that it was a blast and an honor.

For the stunts...A lot of them were recently done by other people in recent videos, even the some of the music were old and used which was unexpected. I also lost a stunt that was done better than the original, without a packer

It was about what I was expecting, great video all around.

But i've benn surprised by few member who landed few very nice stunt as Docta Luv who did a great job in it, and Kaneda who remember me he's the best stunter ever. Madmax and Danny added their point of creativity. Nagual hasn't got alot of stunt but he wheelie combo was great .

At the editing point, kaneda did an awesome job, great effect on a music hard to edit. The style was totaly diferent than "The Awakening". The intro was the best ever (sad to don't see daffy in) and the "main part finish" was comic.

A question : ZeroX landed few stunts for it before leave ?

Good bye to all stunters who leave after this video (hopefully not kaneda). And waiting a new video...the next year.

Creative stuff from everybody, standouts was Docta Luv, Dannye and kaneda, you guys kicked ass, as the other stunters but you did some really nice shoutouts. I loved the editing, everything was just right, felt good watching it. The music is awesome too, makes me think of VC Smackdown. Scripting was great too, good job Neo.

Well, I have to say good job to every member of ATS for putting effort and hard work to this video. Props guys.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention Madmax for the standouts, your two last double airgrabs were fucking awesome, incredible job!

I like to take up what i didn't like first so you'll be left with what's good in your memory.
First off the black and white idea was pretty cool but you could had and should had done it the other way around.
Vice City gets very boring to look at when it's like that and i takes so much of the feeling away from the video, as editors we're supposed to correct the colors, not remove them.
So instead make the vehicle and the performer black and white would've been better or at least done something... perhaps made it a little Sin City like instead of plain black and white.
Samurai's bump supported by the tank in Shoreside LC was done by THEFTman in Revocation and without the tank by Explosion.
Nitzkit's uhm... can i say "wallramp"2sign was done by kaneda only he didn't use a packer... in one way a new stunt but in another way we had seen it all before.
Samurai's palm2cork2rail was done and completed by me in the SL, if you're gonna use an old stunt it should at least be performed better than the original stunt.
Also i do like Prodigy but i do not like the song you used in the main song, there's no diversity in it.
I'm not much of a fan of long intros neither but that's on me who's weird that way.

As for the good parts i saw lots of creative stunts and i was really surprised by Docta Luv, for me he had always been an average stunter who i felt wasn't quite up there with you guys but in this video he was one of the better stunters in my eyes, way to go dude.
Samurai's BSM2BB was amazing too, i had been looking to find a way to land on that thing for ages and then you came along and did it like that, brilliant stunt.
Kaneda's ramp2bump2precision landing at the construction site was something i had been trying but i heard you had done it and i couldn't really steal since you let me be a guest... wonder who i would had looked like in the outro then

All in all a good video but some of you need to focus more on the stunting that then scripting, 7/10 from me.

No need to hash alot of things alreadys said. I haven't been around as much as i'd like and i haven't gotten to horse around with the ATS guys as much either due to other priorities. The vid was super enjoyable to me and i'm glad to be apart of it ( I wish i could've have participated more ) . Since i haven't been in the loop of the latest here in the stunting world, guess i'm behind in spots and such. regardless i still had fun doing the stunts. If i had known that those 2 stunts i had were already done, i wouldn't have sent them in. Props to daffy for corking it and landing the sucker! That rail pissed me off a few times, especially the perfect 540's to it....And good job to explosion to theftman who did the stunt before me. I'm just glad the bb stunt hasn't been done before me

It's great to see that this place is still kicking. I'll be checkin in from time to time, but if i do some stunts for a vid, if i do, i'll run them by some folk who is in the know hehe!

Film is gr8, pwning and... excellent. Just keep it up - I wonder what would happen in future.

Intro & Outro were made with an excellent competence of scripting, even if some scenes were quite excessive for a stunt video, lol, poor daffy. The closest sight of all stuntas at the end could have cut as well in my opinion. Anyway was a good job.

Stunts (as usual) are really fantastic, expecially creative and (some) new. Asd i'm not going to make a review, but my favourites are dannye's wc with infernus at 3.51, jump 2 wc 2 grind by kaneda at 6.07, and the double ag with pizzaboy by madmax at 7.31 as well.

9/10, really good job!

I was totally blown away by the vid, mainly because I do like the music.
The vid was perfectly synched to it.

Props for all the hard work that was put in the mods for this vid.
I think it's a nice theme and it gave an eerie feeling to it.
I know there was alot time put in to create that stuff.
And the result was original to say the least.
I know I'm a bit biased seen the vid coming together like that, but I was totally blown away.

The stuff sent in was original and showed some flexibility of the members.
The lack of stunts I could contribute was greatly compensated by the others.
I am just glad that I finally nailed the bridgewheelie2grind (which is a bitch tbh, nomatter how it looks) and I got to be in this.

All in all a great stuntvid with awesome cinematics, accompanied (finally) by some decent music.

I disagree with the first point. Editing shouldn't have rules applied at all. Thinking outside of what's expected should be something that's encouraged. It's much more interesting to dodge people's expectations, rather than simply live up to them.

On the second point...as I mentioned to Feron earlier - the scripting was done by one person, and was wrapped up in under a day. The stunting was done over a much longer period. I think (again) to apply that kind of blanket opinion is a bit short-sighted. Not knocking your honesty, just offering a rebuttal .

The plant's breakable if you hit it hard enough. To stop it coming back I parked a bike near the small wall on the left. I don't know if you can catch it in the recording though, but it's there. Mooing it out would have been less annoying though - nothing worse than hurtling down the hill toward that planter and NOT having it pop was a nuisance.

To everyone else...thanks for all the feedback. I know some didn't like the song (MOST didn't like the song), but I guess that's the way it goes. Not gonna make any apologies for the use of the black & white mods...because I think it looks spiffy and put more emphasis on the bike and rider. Mention of old stunts and old music...meh. I'm so over that now.

It was a fun, unique and often frustrating vid to be a part of, so I'm happy that I had the opportunity. Props to all the guys who, despite escalating commitments in real life, still managed to submit some great stuff.

(As I said earlier) I am really impressed with how this vid turned out. I am really liking the effect/mood created by the Black 'n White mod (amazing job on that Neo and Nitz), and while I wasn't overly fond of the song to begin with, it is definitely starting to grow on me (thanks to the fantastic editing job by Kan). And surprisingly enough, people's posts in video release threads tend to have *gasp* OPINIONS in them. It's no crime to use RADs method...I use it, and I know of a lot of other people who do to, obviously. But it's also no crime to dislike RADs method and choose not to use it. There's no need to get pissy about people saying that they don't see the need to use RADs in stunts...it's their CHOICE, much like it's your CHOICE to use RADs method. So maybe just respect people's choices, eh?

Honestly though, what was said was an explaination of why I do not use RADs a lot. Sure i'll use it from time to time but I do not think that hitting the biggest roof in the game and getting air with lasts 10 seconds is fun. I am more into tactical stuff and I think that a lot of ATS is as well. It's not a refusal to use RADs on my behalf. Far from there. I have used it when my runup is absolute shit because it procures good acceleration.

SOME stunts do require RADs, no doubt. Those stunts are the stunts I don't really look into doing.

I was a bit aggressive yes, but Im sick of every time I post somthing people rip it apart bit by bit. Gets annoying after awhile when you have to repeat what you said the first time because people are so biased on their opinions they overlook what you say and splurge out some random shit. Lets stop talking about this.

Now, alot of people were complaining about my one stunt that was "Old". Well, I did that stunt 3 years ago around the time that Misguided Angel and myself ressurected .:vERt:. That was a loooonnggg time ago. Now, that's not an excuse. I've been wanting to get that stunt "Out there" for the last few years, I spent at least 3 days trying to nail that stunt, and it is by far one of the funnest stunting sessions I've ever done, and it feels really great to have it in a video, it's like that final nail in the coffen. To me stunting is about fun and self expresion, some days it's fun to push the limits, other days it's fun to just fuck around and re-live the past and go back to the roots. And whatever I find fun[/i] at the time is what I'm going to put in a video. I'm not out to please anyone else but myself, call my a self-centered and selfish prick, but that's the truth.

Anyways...

Props to the ATS boys. Kan you did a superior editing job, everything was timed just perfect, top-notch work. The Scripting was also great, one of my favorite intro/outro's ever. Thanks for letting me be apart of of it, I really do apreciate it.

Anyways it was a huge amount of work making this vid but I think it was worth it. The B&W thing wasn't perfect but it still looked cool. Oh and if anyone wants the LC B&W mod your welcome to it. It's 65 megs and contains all the files that need switching out. I'll up it.

I seriously missed it... because the angle in which you recorded some stunts really hurt the look in my opinion. It was almost like more time was spent on the scripting. Still lots of freakishly insane stuff that I just wish had a little better angle.

When you guys scripted the intro with all the bikes riding next to each other perfectly in line, it didn't look good. It only didn't look good because they were perfectly side by side. Would it be impossible, or even just too much work, to slightly offset each of the riders? I think that would have looked a lot better.

I probably should go read the tutorial and see for myself, but I'm a cunt like that.

I was really excited when I saw this thread, was really nervous when I got bad speed from File Front. While watching I was like O_O. Overall the Intro, Outro, this kind of stuff was really awesome, trully one of the best I've ever seen in a stunt video. The stunts rocked too, I don't mind some of them were old or did before.
But I just hate prodigy, so that's a big down. The black and white theme was a good idea, but it lacked some color modification or something, like someone mentioned, that it would look, for an example, like Sin City.

It looked overall like a mix of a themed video and a stunt video. It was definitely very stylish and enjoyable - A Must Watch!

I guess if you had the rider's take off at different times, it'd give that effect. It'd just require some wait states between car_drive_to lines. I think you'd lose a bit in those panning shots though...but I get what ya mean.

The video was great though. It had a different vibe going through it. Something not quite like the old ATS, nor the Awakening. Reminded me of Twos Tale. Not sure if I did like the whole video in black and white like that, but it's something unique. Good job with it. The editing was very nice, perfect you could say. The music, well it was kinda generic. But it fit well with the theme I guess. Intro and outro were huge as always. You guys always have something good prepared.

Now the stunts, haha, some of them really caught my eye. Kaneda continues to dish out some incredible stuff. Good job on that wallride2grind. I've tried a while back, but got bored with it. Also those precision stunts man, I love that. Everyone else had some good stuff too of course. Madmax continues to push the limits of the pizzaboy I see, well done.

So yeah, good job guys. Very interested to see what you do with your next video.

Yeah I definitely got Kr3m to thank for this one. It came about by me thinking to myself, "I wonder if there is a VC equivalent to catapulting". Yeah thats true. Interesting story, I had landed the crane (the one right above the barrels), I've even got the rep. I decided not to submit it because: while I did ensure the car was set to vulnerable, I didn't think to disable unlimited car health (this was one of my really early attempts before I knew what was gonna be possible), and thus the bike didn't get set on fire from the explosion, which it obviously should. My thinking was it didn't make much difference, as the fire doesn't cause you to explode until a few seconds later (time enough to land up on the crane), and thus it was really only a visual issue. But I figured just to make sure, I'd do the stunt again "properly" (car vulnerable and no unlimited health), and unfortunately I just wasn't lucky enough to land the crane again, what you see here was the next best thing that I was able to do.

All that's needed is "permission" to upload large file sizes. Any admin @ TGA can do this like Sam or Aries.

Daffy knew nothing about the outro and to be honest I was stuck for an idea for one. It was a little rushed and was the only thing that popped into my head at the last minute.

Thanks man, I am an intro junkie The intro....I'd say about 3 to 4 hours by the time I got all the timing down right. The outro took about 30 minutes.

Doesn't feel like ATS anymore at all, all the traits are gone, there were some great stunts in this still but a lot of old and mediocre stunts made it through by the looks of it, you can't tell me it isn't an issue in ATS, I was in ATS, I specifically remember several occasions where we had told people their stunt wouldn't be in the video because it was old/easy, I specifically remember being told certain grinds aren't long enough.

Some things that caught my attention...

Kan's stunts, as always.
Aries' PSM to grind is great, though poorly executed as that fence is quite easy to grind around the corners
Max's pizzaboy grind, I was trying that a couple of months ago and got several attempts that were up to par to what was in this video, you should have kept trying that one TBH
The editing at the start of the main song, that was cool
Dannye had some pretty interesting stunts as always
Cool outro
Docta luvs grind near Vrock, honestly, I think everyone who has hit that spot more then 20 times has done that stunt =/ Even without using that Reality mod (why this is not considered modding is beyond me, I was disgusted TBH when I first seen Nagual's grind to grind on that same building)

ATS used to have a feeling of flawlessness IMO, not today.

Bikes burning was done with a specific opcode. That was Neo's department, so I'm not sure what opcode exactly.

Giant models weren't giant at all...it was just some green screening and masking work.

To stay on topic, I keep on watching it from time to time even though it's been some times since it has been released. Everything is outstanding, stunts, editing, music. One of the best video of the year for sure.

Edit : Oh and between 2:41 and 3:03 is that some scm also, where you get those turning camera of your player' skins litteraly stopped in the air.
