Title: Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)
Post by: kr3mlin on December 27, 2006, 05:02:45 AM
I hope everybody's festive season goings on...happend and well.....I had an idea of how I would Monster Dynamcis into the community. Basically through this topic I will post a selection of replays i went around taking, giving examples of the method etc. People can download and checkout the replays, try it themselves and then post any questions they have. I will then answer any questions

The Process:
1. I post replays
2. You test it out
3. You ask questions if you dont get it (or are a lazy bugger)
4. I will post replays, screenshots, videos or whatever is needed to try and answer your question

Posted Files:
- Original set of replays (22, including reps from "Now, Fading From View") (http://www.tgahq.com/?do=dynamic&id=4387)
- Live Recording Clip (http://www.filefactory.com/file/37438d/)

Questions and Answers:
Q- I'll like to know how much time should i stay on a car before enter in it?
A- With getting in, to get an effect you only need to get onto the car for a few seconds. The longer you go onto the car the greater the charge but also you increase the damage done to the car which might make it explode when you set it off. The best technique ive found is to find cars that are tougher and do multiple quick charges rather than a single long charge. The going into the ground is dependant on the surface, i think, i havent 100% worked that out yet

Q- So basically you drive a monsters wheel into oncoming traffic, if you dont get kicked into the air, get in that car and boom up you go?
A- To charge you need to mount the car without doing damage to it, if it gets damaged it will buckle under the weight of the wheel rather than not moving. Once a car is damaged or "popped" it cannot be used

Q- Can it be done on a PS2?
A- Yes, it can

Q- My problem is, that the wheel of the monster don't get in the car, it is getting ON the car ... do you know, how i can handle this? When Kr3m does it the wheel just sinks right in. and goes right through.
A- The wheel is supposed to go onto the car. The replays are just weird and show it going into the car, in reality my wheel goes onto the car

Q- Whenever I drive the Monster´s wheel onto a car, the car slowly slides away. What am I doing wrong?
A- Im guessing you already 'pop' the car with your first touch, you have to get onto the car without doing this. Cars with low fronts are best, pretty much any sedan. Dont bother with most trucks etc, their tops are too high

Q- Does the car have to have a npc driving or can you use any old spawned car to charge up? What is npc driving?
A- There needs to be an npc in the car. Basically a ped controlled car, the ones that spawn as traffic

Q- Id like to have some hints about the glitch involving the MTB... everytime i try i fall by the MTB and i go launched without bike. any cool advice??
A- Well i find launching the car with a smg is best. As for staying on the MTB its all luck, i tried alot of times for the stunt in my movie, its just luck mostly. Using the mountain bike is the best bicycle, CJ is more likely to stay on it

Q- Could you go into detail with acceleration techniques. Do I hit the car going fast? Slowly roll onto it? Roll towards it, then accelerate onto it and up the hood?
A- The technique I use it to stop in front of the car, so that it stops as well. Then accelerate just enough to get me onto the flat front of the car. If you accelerate too much you will pop it, and if you got too little it wont be the wheel onto the car.

Q- Would you say that limo's are a good vehicle to try doing it with? Are they easier to do it get onto and charge without popping... do they yeild better results...?
A- My reference to the limo as a good car to use is if you are going to launch the monster you are in. As a long car I think there is more of the car that pushes against the monster to launch it.

Dammit .rep files. I cant watch those...
I've seen all the other vids, is this really just driving the monster onto the hood of a car? And if it doesn't get damaged, you go through the bonnet, 'charge' it. Is that just it?

Can it be done on a PS2?

The charging process is the driving onto the hood of the car, or any other part of the vehicle as long as you dont "pop" it by damaging it

I had a bit of a try at it. Is there any secret to getting on the car without it just squeezing out? Doesnt seem to happen for me.
BTW. You're from Melbourne! Which part? Power to the Victorians.

Ha!
It WORKS!
But my suggestion is to drive monster onto left or right side of vechicle.

Edit:
I did great grab by doing this
Thanks!

I know how does it works. You mast ride onto a vechicle without touching it except monster wheels. If I touched car then it didn' work so far.

I beleive he means a car spawned by the game with a random ped driving in it.

^I figured that out.. They are called AI's usually, ppl.

I managed to get a 22059* spin with 95ft height.. LOL  also breaken the 1500ft height barrier by about 50ft

I have some advice on how to perform this. Go to a red light where there are 2 or more cars waiting for it to turn green. Drive your Monster up the first car, and gently drive over it to get the front left or right wheel on the hood of the car behind it, and it will most likely start charging.

btw.. People claimed my iBSM isn't a good stunt method because it's not natural.. What the FUCK do you call this?

Whenever I do this it just seems to drive over the car. But when Kr3m does it the wheel just sinks right in. and goes right through.
Is it really JUST driving onto random cars till you go through?
Title: Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)
Post by: infested on December 30, 2006, 06:56:03 AM
You don't need to get the wheel stuck on the car. When you drive the front wheel onto a car´s hood, and the shock absorbers doesn't react on it (for the ped car, that is), then you are charging the car.

I think I got SOMETHING.
Found a...I forget. Damn NYE party. Too tired. That four door front wheel drive car with the low front end...
I got onto the front of that, and it popped out and flew a few metres. I guess thats the trick, but without any proper charging.
But I still can't get it to charge. Every time, the suspension buckles, the car gets damaged and rolls out. Still can't get on there properly.

Could you go into detail with acceleration techniques. Do I hit the car going fast? Slowly roll onto it? Roll towards it, then accelerate onto it and up the hood?

I really wanna get this working

Title: Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)

Question answered.

The clip shows how I get onto the car without popping it. Also Im using two quick charges. Quick charging damages the cars less and multiple charging events seem to have a multiplying effect. I do this to get a maximum launch without damaging the car i get into. The clip is just a small random launch I did to show you how it goes. Pay attention to the acceleration sounds to get an idea and also look at the fender of the car just before i get in...see how it is shaking, this is one indicator of a charged car

That vid helped a heap, I couldn't play those rep's...so yeah. I watched it several times, replaying the part that shows you actually driving onto the car (and listening to the acceleration sounds)...and left it on my desktop for future reference.
I swear, if it wasn't 11:33pm, or the PS2 wasn't in my brother's room, I'd so be doing this.

Thanks again Kr3m.

Well I don't know, I live on the Mornington Peninsula. I can however see Melbourne from my bedroom.
But that hardly helps me determine the weather. Down here it is pretty cool outside, the day wasn't too bad either. But when you didn't get enough sleep, the warmth still gets on your nerves...
How were the festivities up there? I live right near where those riots were...A couple of minutes drive.

Title: Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)
Post by: RunLikeHell on January 01, 2007, 07:03:23 PM
Holy shit. I did it. I went to Venturas to find some sleek sports cars after half an hour of frustration in LS, and I started spawning my own Monsters instead of that one near LS.
After a few shots with some small airs...I got another Turismo, 'quick charged' it 3 times, got in...The door shut before I was in (glitched)...the game froze, a load screen came up, and when it was done I was in the air above The Big Ear out in the desert.
I started on The Strip.
Then it exploded and I did...I should've done the health cheat. It was moving so fast I couldn't see the fire!

That's just F'king amazing. Thanks Kr3m, for all your help.  SO happy.

Oh yes. And NPC=the driver. It stands for Non Player Character, or, an AI. The driver

I live inner city melbourne, the city had a few fight...i saw alot of gangs around St Kilda where I went for NYE to see some bands play, by the time I was out and about it was too late and most people who were fighting had already tired themselves out and were now licking wounds and doing some macho posturing etc

Glad to hear you got the stunt going

I have a friend who got beaten up on St Kilda beach. Some girls decided they didn't like her name or something. Pretty horrible.
Queries:
Do you find that you can't do it with some cars? I get results with the Bravura, Blista Compact, Infernus, Jester...to name a few. But with the Taxi and Cheetah (plus many more) it just seems impossible, like it will never get on the car properly. With the Jester it works almost every time...But the air isn't so great.
I get amazing results with the Turismo. Which is a shame, because it's incredibly rare.
A good tip is to try the 'traffic is fast cars' cheat. You get useable cars everywhere.

One more thing. I haven't managed to get the Monster to fly through the air. All I can do is get the other car to fly away. On Fading From View, you sit on the car until it catches fire. That never happened for me. I tried just sitting there, I got white smoke, black smoke...then just nothing. I waited, got out, and it disappeared completely.
Still, I should test trying to make the monster fly after watching the vid again. Funny that. I just toyed with it for 3 hours, and watching the vid made me wanna go do it again.
And I think I will...

Hmm very interesting stunt here Mr Hicks... i mean kr3mlin  Anyway, i tried this for about an hour last night with an NPC car, only got one good one in with a grab, i did a few with a jester (is that the one that looks like a Supra?), but they went underground for some reason.
Every other time, the NPC car has moved, got shunted from behind by an impatient NPC driver, or just plain didnt work even though i ran over the hood without the NPC car moving.

P.S. offtopic, but where on the mornington peninsula are you RunLikeHell?
Title: Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)
Post by: RunLikeHell on January 02, 2007, 12:50:59 AM
Yeah the Jester is the supra. It has a habit of going under ground fairly often...good for getting inside the Gant bridge. You can't get out though.

Near Dromana, is where I am.

Just did it for some more. Managed to get the Monster flipping, now that I know how. I got this down pat.
Once again, you can't find a better car for this than the Turismo IMO.

I just flew from the middle of LS to the highway going around Chiliad. 33,000degrees rotation. That so badly owns the current records in the WR section.
EDIT: Anyone tried this in MTA? You could perhaps replicate the pedestrian by putting a friend in the car...And blowing him straight to hell. Sounds fun, no?

I just had my first real attempt at trying this, I think I am (slowely  ) starting to get the hang of it.

Sofar I am able to do the one where I get in the charged car, but unable to do the one where you stay in the truck and fling it. And I am an expert at getting them stuck and flinging myself underground

But thats alright, I am sure I get it once I start watching the reps/vid you posted.

Thanks for providing us with something thats really fun to do Kr3m

*Bump*

I have a fun little suggestion for all you Monster Dynamics lovers out there.

1. Start charging any car with your Monster truck
2. Exit your Monster truck leaving it on the car building up a hellishly big charge
3. Get yourself a towtruck or tractor (a vehicle that can tow others)
4. Hook it up to the front of the charged car
5. If it works out (which like you should know is always hit and miss) enjoy the fun

I will try to get a clip to show people if no one finds out the result, but for now I am going to bed.

- 8/10 of the times I am catapulting in the ground when i enter the vehicle WITH the monster on it. Am i doing something wrong?

- I can't get the car burning, when i'm on it. What is the best method?

- Does rolling on the car more times increase the height of the car catapulting away?

Thx

Kr3mlin, I need it to charge too much look at Bobsaget's mile high height and 166 flips and almost 100k rotation  I'm trying to beat that but I never come close. I came up with a sort of science though. It takes 6 seconds for the car that's charging to smoke black smoke, then if you're still charging 5 more seconds and it might disappear because it's too charged. I can get some nice ones with an 11 second charge getting out and leaving it on. The most common problem i have is being shot outside the universe and flying over the ocean at like infinite height  or being shot underground. I guess it just takes lots of trial and error.
Title: Monster Dynamics (Tutorial)
Post by: kr3mlin on March 04, 2007, 04:18:42 PM
Also factor in multiple charges, I notice two small 2-3 second charges have as much effect as say a long 10 second charge...so try that option as well. My big launch with the monster truck in Now Fading From View was from two brieft charges on that limo
