Title: XP Pro validation
Post by: Catastrophe on September 16, 2006, 09:58:59 PM
I have a dual boot Mac with OSX and Win Xp, and I got a virus on my XP partition, and I deleted it through my Mac partition. I also validated my version of XP Pro on my XP partition. Will my CD Key work again after I re-install it?

There's a file in the system32 folder you can back up that includes you serial and activation information you can just paste after you've formated your PC.
I don't remember the name of it but i guess you'll find it after a quick google search.

I used boot camp on my Intel MacBook Pro. But, I had no problems re-installing XP and all that jazz. Thanks for all the help, and that tip about backing up your validation files.
