Title: Packer Placement?
Post by: C-Jay on February 27, 2006, 10:10:15 AM
I have managed to pull off a few cool jumps with via Packer and I was wondering how do you guys know how to place the Packer just right so your NRG will hit the ledge or side  I place it randomly but only a few tries out of 5 million will get right :P Whats your secret

Adjust every now and then, push it away a little and stuff. That usually makes it a bit easier. But still, it'll take a lot of tries.

just place it so it points up just below the edge, then if it's not getting u much height, nudge it forward a tiny way, or vice versa push it back if it's too close or ur bailing.

I'm a little stuck coz the one i wanna do, i need more height bu can't put it forward. I'm inches out.

Shoot the front or rear tires then, that makes it go higher/slower, shoot the rear ones for more height from the packer and shoot the front to make it a bit lower. Or shoot both for a tiny all around lower.

It's not magic, just try it until you've done it

My tip  :(   :P
Well, you cant do good bumps with every setup (@ insane) you still need to find that perfect spot...

have the camera behind the packer then with the right analog stick move it down until the camera is near the ground behind the packer, you should be able to see where your going to bump. Also just adjust according to how far and how high you bump.
For example if your going for a high roof and you get alot of distance but not much height then move the packer a little closer to the bump. It comes naturally after a while. :)

Pretty much what juan said is the best way to go. But remember, the closer to the bump the packer is, the earlier you have to lean back.

I've also made a couple of packer to bumps with replays and pictures to help you out, a picture being worth a thousand words and all...
